Outreach Programs
In keeping with our mission to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ, CHRISTUS Schumpert Health System continues a strong commitment to mission work and community service. Our programs include:
Hospice, which provides care for terminally ill people and their families.
Adult Day Care Center, a place for older adults to receive individualized daytime care that promotes independence and can help maintain and improve health.
Cara Center, a partnership with Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. The center helps diagnose, manage and prevent child abuse, and provides medical care and aftercare for victims.
CHRISTUS Schumpert Grace Home, Louisiana's first residential hospice that provides medical, emotional and spiritual care for the terminally ill.
CHRISTUS Schumpert Foundation, a partner in the healing ministry of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word.
School-Based Health Centers, which provide primary and preventive care to underserved students at Linwood Middle School, Atkins Elementary and Fairfield Elementary.
Shreveport-Bossier City Community Renewal Ministry, which supports, through donations, a ministry dedicated to restoring the foundation of safe and caring communities by rebuilding the neighborhood system of caring relationships.
Alliance for Education, which supports a grant to improve public education by sponsoring a three-year after-school program that serves between 2,500 and 5,200 students in 15 to 40 elementary schools.
