Grace Home
CHRISTUS Schumpert recognizes that some people's needs are too great to be handled within their own home. In January 1997 CHRISTUS Schumpert Health System opened Grace Home, a residential hospice located on the corner of Margaret Place and Southern Avenue.
The Grace Home building covers more than 18,000 square feet and has 16 private rooms, separate family rooms, a children's playroom and a chapel for quiet meditation. By creating a homelike environment, much of the anguish and anxiety of coping with a terminal illness can be greatly reduced for both the patient and his or her family.
Grace Home is managed and operated by the hospice staff of CHRISTUS Schumpert-St. Mary Place. Grace Home allows the family to celebrate the final days of life in an atmosphere of peace and privacy-all under the experienced and loving care of physicians, nurses, volunteers and a myriad of support staff, all trained in hospice care.
