CHRISTUS Schumpert Hospice
At CHRISTUS Schumpert Hospice, our goal is to provide the best possible palliative care for people who have a terminal illness.
Since a terminal illness affects every member of the family, our hospice care focuses on both the patient and the family. We support family members in their efforts to care for the person and help prepare them for the future.
While family members attend to the person on a daily basis, members of the hospice team make regular home visits. If inpatient care is needed, the hospice team can arrange for the care to be provided in a location outside the home. The care is provided at the hospital or a nursing home or, in some cases, CHRISTUS Schumpert residential hospice, Grace Home. This depends on the person's needs.
In addition to our hospice services, our bereavement program provides individual and group support systems for families to assist them in the grief process.
